The idea for Sareal Design came from the recognition that each individual has a genuine opportunity to support and make a difference to the many communities to which they are connected, either directly or indirectly.
Sareal Design was founded by Brigitte Jacobs and Justin Wingfield. It is the result of a need that both Brigitte and Justin have to create a framework and business that will in some way better the lives of local South African people who, through their skills are in search of a meaningful livelihood. Authenticity is paramount, and each design item is selected from projects which empower local communities in a sustainable way. Our inspiration and drive comes from the knowledge that communities are being changed by expanding and developing markets for their designs and creations.
Sareal Design operates in both the South African and European markets and is the catalyst for bringing together a variety of high end items encapsulating a contemporary African design aesthetic.
From small beginnings we have grown into a sensibly sized, sustainable business buying and supplying a varying number of goods from a number of disadvantaged and rural communities. Thanks to the quality of the products we source, and the skills and dedication of the people that make them, our business continues to grow. But more importantly, Sareal is able in the most meaningful way, to change the lives of these disadvantaged communities.
